Samhain 🍂

Samhain Blessings to you, Braveheart! 🔥

We clasp the hands of those who go before us.

Wendell Berry

[My eldest grandchild and I have lots of images marking where we stood.]

As the hours of daylight decrease, and trees shed their leaves over my gardens moving into dormancy, and I reflect on the absolute beauty of my life.

The dreams that came true, the fulfillment of sacred moments and personal mile markers of love, joy and choice.

I celebrate today as a Day One.

I don’t say
it’s easy, but
what else will do
if the love one claims to have for the world
be true?
So let us go on…
-Mary Oliver, “Lines Written in the Days of Growing Darkness”

Braveheart, what is this season for you? What are the practices (routines and rituals that you try over and over) that guide you and provide you with a sense of continuum?

  • Dates and calendar years are not as relevant or memorable as personal anniversaries, seasons and celestial cycles—particularly with regard to personal perspective and progress, discovery, expression and growth.

These personal points of progress and development occur subtly within the hours of our days and into weeks — and without notice if we do not employ some type of chronicling: A practice of pause-notice-noting of how we feel + what we are living.
