February review

The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.

Anna Quindlen

Overall, the month of February has been a slow and steady progression through physical recovery and extremely cold, wintry weather, along with lots of kindred conversations, reading and napping (and enjoying the view from my large picture window).

“That time
I thought I could not
go any closer to grief
without dying.
I went closer,
and I did not die.

“It’s not the weight you carry
but how you carry it-
books, bricks, grief-
it’s all in the way
you embrace it, balance it, carry it
when you cannot, and would not,
put it down.”

-Mary Oliver, excerpt from “Heavy”

The way we carry the details of our living enables us to make our way through.

There are simple ways to resume our flow but more than anything it is a matter of practice (trying over and over).

🙆🏻‍♀️🙈🦄✨ The slowness of my living right now requires that I consistently remind myself of the principles of my right brain ✂️🔮🖌️📝⏳ planning practice:

  • attention
  • self-compassion
  • expression
  • slow is fast enough
  • It took some time to sort through everything and compile a succinct list, but I highly recommend you do the same, Braveheart. 😊
  • Doing so can be clarifying and foster self-compassion. ❤️

The Right Brain Planner Quarterly Guide Life Quad prompt for March is [being/doing].

  • “Your own reasons to make are reason enough. Create whatever causes a revolution in your heart.” -Elizabeth Gilbert
  • “It’s impossible to be a life-changing presence to some without being a total joke to others. Criticism is proportional to impact.” -Mark Manson
