Like the ocean…we too find clarity in stillness. Hidden changes and transformations can still flow even when it seems like nothing is moving.

This past week I read “Inviting Stamina,” the fifth chapter of Living The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron — offering inspiration for a new season of my living.
The section of this chapter regarding allowing Divine support reminded me to trust in love, and the prayers of my sky meditations; and the presence of angels (Psalm 34:7).
Clarity within stillness; hidden changes and transformations and expanding landscapes (inner and outer) — this is a manifestation of Divine love and compassion.

It’s still a part of a larger landscape, and you are allowed to take note of it. Let these moments accumulate. Take photos of ordinary things and write down fleeting moments. Come back to them again and again, and be surprised by the vastness of the landscape in which you have been living.

The ☀️ sunlight seems to be changing every single day as we near the summer Solstice. ✨ I suppose that is why it is my habit to be outdoors as soon as the sky begins to announce the sun’s rising — especially during summer.
“Being in the light” as a practice and end result ensures I am investing in situations (wellness choices, relationships and creative work) that energize and edify my life, contributing to my endurance and overall well-being. 🩵
- In my daily writing I continue to compile notes regarding situations where I have no control + how I can accept [be curious and compassionate] the lack of control.
- I consider this an especially timely practice as the moon waxes to 🌔🌕✨ fullness.
- This is “shining a light” on situations in which I keep returning to [in my thoughts, efforts or desires], but also currently don’t have any energy for.
- This includes examining the reasons behind why there isn’t energy.
- This includes processing, releasing or resolving the reasons.
- This includes self-forgiveness and self-kindness.
- I identified situations that have run their course [lessons learned; grace has expired; actions speak].
The prompts from Week 5, “Inviting Stamina” focused on staying the course with the insights, fortitude and energy of what I can control [predict, invest energy and time] and accept [be curious and compassionate about].
“‘Hope’ is the thing with
feathers —
That perches in the soul —
And sings the tune
without the words —
And never stops — at all”
Emily Dickinson

💖 The alchemy of love (as it contributes to stamina):
- The themes of “Inviting Stamina” led to writing about my creative practice, with an emphasis on:
- being in nature; gardening; cycling like the moon; nature’s seasons
- seeking Divine support; meditation; imagining angels (Psalm 34:7)
- Divine guidance available within each moment
- gratitude (as attention, ala David Whyte):
- “[Gratitude] arises from paying attention, from being awake in the presence of everything that lives within and without us.”

Prayer means that, in some unique way, we believe we’re invited into a relationship with someone who hears us when we speak in silence.
