The diary is the only form of writing that encourages total freedom of expression. Because of it’s very private nature, it has remained immune to any formal rules of content, structure or style. As a result, the diary can come closest to reproducing how consciousness evolves.
I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape — the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.

Braveheart, dates and calendar years are not as relevant or memorable as personal anniversaries, seasons and celestial cycles for our perspective and discovery, expression and growth.
Choosing a planner (or journal) that is the size you like + has the type of paper you need.
If you are like to collage, an inexpensive planner with lightweight paper is suitable.
If you like using fountain pens or markers, look for paper that is 100gsm.
I like to keep my journals and planner(s) in a stack 🧙♀️ (waiting and ready for me), so I prefer a 9″x 5″-ish planner.

Elements of my 2025 planner set-up:
Because I liked the monthly and weekly features so much—I just purchased this planner for personal appointments/notes. 😊 (Even though I already had another planner …)
I will also be compiling a personal log of monthly notes using this calendar.
This practice is so affirming, and I love being able to see an entire year at a glance as a point of reference and reflection. 🔮
Without notes (and review) we are often unable to realize the details our progress and growth (and all the 🪄 goodness) within our wild and precious lives.
I use this site when I need to create dated calendar grids for varying number of weeks (to schedule projects/track progress with jotted notes).
I will also be using the templates I share with my Ko-fi patrons. Here is a review of the various templates:
