One of the biggest barriers to self-awareness is that we lack a zoomed-out perspective on our lives. Without this view, it’s incredibly difficult to notice patterns and identify issues; and without that, it’s incredibly difficult to make wise decisions to address them.

Road trips used to be much more frequent for me. ๐ And yet … it has been over a year since I have been away from any length of time. Definitely time to remedy ๐ that!
Packing for me begins with my journal pack:
- glue stick and pen
- essential oil roll-on
- Kindle Paperwhite
- mini journal
- palm stone
- Washi tape
- scissors
- scraper card
- ruler (for tearing paper)
- ๐markers
- oracle cards
One half of knowing what you want is knowing what you must give up before you get it.

To make this trip I had to reluctantly modify my usual choices (like driving myself, having no set schedule) โ but I knew I needed to do this, so multiple compromises were made (and all will be well โ one way of the other!). ๐
When you regain a sense of your life as a journey of discovery, you return to rhythm with yourself.
John O’Donohue
There are some decisions I am currently living out (emotionally difficult; maybe not permanent), so aside from my original (and main) motivation for this trip, I am hopeful that “zooming out” will offer comfort. ๐
